About the Course
Procurement can influence gender equality through supplier access, tender design, qualification requirements, contract packaging, payment practices and supplier-development systems. Women-owned and women-led enterprises may face barriers that are not visible in conventional sourcing processes, including limited information, smaller balance sheets, collateral constraints and complex tender requirements.
This course equips procurement and gender professionals to assess gender barriers within procurement systems and design more inclusive supplier participation without weakening competition, integrity or value-for-money principles. It covers gender-responsive procurement strategy, supplier data, market analysis, tender design, qualification, evaluation, contract management and supplier development.
Participants develop a gender-responsive procurement diagnostic, women-enterprise market map, inclusive tender checklist, supplier participation indicators and procurement improvement plan. The course can be cross-listed with Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
Target Participants
Procurement and supply-chain professionals; gender and ESG specialists; public procurement officers; supplier-development teams; private-sector sustainability staff; development-project personnel; SME and enterprise-development practitioners; policy advisers and consultants.
