About the Course
Organizations that work with or come into contact with children have a legal, ethical, and moral responsibility to ensure that children are protected from harm, abuse, exploitation, and neglect. Child safeguarding goes beyond child protection by focusing not only on responding to abuse but also on preventing harm that may arise through the actions or inactions of staff, volunteers, partners, and institutional systems.
Many institutions operate in environments where children interact with employees, contractors, service providers, and community members. Without proper safeguarding frameworks, policies, and practices, organizations risk exposing children to abuse, exploitation, neglect, and harmful practices. International standards, including those from UNICEF, Save the Children, and global humanitarian frameworks, emphasize the need for robust safeguarding systems, reporting mechanisms, and staff awareness.
This Training on Child Safeguarding equips participants with practical knowledge and institutional tools to establish and strengthen child safeguarding systems. The course focuses on risk identification, safeguarding policies, reporting procedures, safe recruitment, and building a safeguarding culture within organizations.
