About the Course
Communication teams are under increasing pressure to demonstrate contribution to organizational outcomes rather than report only activity counts, media clips or social reach. Credible evaluation requires clear objectives, audience research, appropriate indicators, data quality, interpretation and transparent reporting of what communication can and cannot claim to have caused.
This advanced programme develops a complete communication measurement capability using contemporary planning and evaluation logic, including the AMEC Integrated Evaluation Framework and the Barcelona Principles. Participants move from objective setting and measurement design through data collection, media and digital analytics, stakeholder research, dashboards, outcome evaluation and management reporting.
Hands-on work produces a full measurement framework for a communication programme. Participants design indicators across outputs, out-takes, outcomes and impact, create data-collection tools, analyse sample datasets, build a dashboard, interpret findings and prepare an evaluation report with recommendations for future communication decisions.
Target Participants
PR and communication managers, monitoring and evaluation professionals supporting communication programmes, corporate affairs teams, campaign managers, digital communication analysts, media-monitoring staff, research officers and senior practitioners responsible for demonstrating communication performance.
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:
- Translate communication objectives into measurable outcomes and evaluation questions.
- Apply recognized PR measurement principles and integrated evaluation logic.
- Design indicators across outputs, audience response, behavioural outcomes and organizational impact.
- Select quantitative and qualitative data sources appropriate to communication questions.
- Analyse media, digital, stakeholder and campaign data critically.
- Build practical dashboards and reporting products for different decision-makers.
- Interpret communication contribution without overstating causality or return.
- Design evaluation studies that support learning and future planning.
- Develop an integrated communication measurement framework for workplace use.

- Better alignment between communication objectives and measurement
- Improved use of audience and stakeholder data
- More decision-useful dashboards for management
- Stronger evaluation discipline across campaigns
- Better organizational learning from communication activity
- Improved accountability for communication investment
Certification
Participants who successfully complete this course will receive a Certificate of Course Completion from Devimpact Institute, recognizing the knowledge, practical skills and competencies developed through the programme.
Tailor-Made Course
This course can be customized and delivered as an in-house programme to address the specific policies, systems, sector context and capacity-development priorities of an organization. The course duration, modules, case studies and practical exercises may be adjusted following a training needs assessment.
