About the Course
Organizational performance increasingly depends on the quality of relationships with employees, communities, customers, regulators, partners, funders, suppliers and other affected groups. Poorly managed engagement can create resistance, mistrust, conflict, delayed decisions and reputation damage even when the underlying programme or service is technically sound.
This course provides a practical framework for identifying stakeholders, analysing influence and expectations, planning engagement, conducting consultations, managing difficult relationships and documenting commitments. It emphasizes two-way communication and relationship quality rather than one-directional information dissemination.
Participants will build a stakeholder engagement system that can be adapted to projects, institutions or corporate functions. Practical outputs include stakeholder maps, engagement matrices, consultation plans, issue logs, commitment trackers and relationship indicators that support consistent follow-through after training.
Target Participants
Public relations and communication professionals, stakeholder engagement officers, project managers, programme staff, corporate affairs teams, community liaison personnel, customer and partner relationship managers, public sector officers, NGO practitioners and managers responsible for external relationships.
