About the Course
Research and technical evidence only create value when decision-makers, funders, communities, media and the public can interpret what the findings mean and what they do not mean. Dense technical language, weak visual explanation and overstated conclusions can reduce trust and limit the uptake of otherwise valuable research.
This course develops the ability to translate research evidence for non-specialist audiences without sacrificing accuracy. It covers evidence interpretation, audience analysis, plain-language writing, data visualization, policy briefs, research storytelling, media engagement, uncertainty communication, digital dissemination and impact measurement.
Participants will transform a technical report or dataset into a portfolio of communication products for different audiences. Outputs include a plain-language summary, policy brief, evidence message house, visual explainer, media brief and dissemination plan.
