About the Course
Pension funds store highly sensitive personal information and control financial transactions that may continue for decades. As member portals, digital payments, cloud services and integrated administration systems expand, pension institutions become attractive targets for ransomware, credential theft, data breaches, payment fraud and supply-chain attacks. Cybersecurity is therefore both an operational responsibility and a board-level member protection issue.
This course provides a pension-specific view of cybersecurity governance and operational resilience. It covers cyber risk assessment, access control, member data protection, phishing, third-party technology risk, incident response, business continuity and board oversight. The programme is designed for a mixed audience and focuses on the controls and governance decisions pension professionals need to understand, rather than highly technical penetration testing or engineering.
Given the concentration of long-term financial assets and sensitive personal data within pension institutions, the course links cybersecurity directly to fiduciary and operational responsibilities. Participants will examine governance, access control, third-party exposure, incident readiness, data protection and business continuity, with particular attention to how boards and senior management can obtain meaningful assurance over cyber resilience.
Target Participants
Pension executives, trustees, IT managers, cybersecurity teams, risk officers, compliance professionals, administrators, internal auditors, data protection officers and managers responsible for digital pension services.
What You Will Learn
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Analyse major cyber threats affecting pension institutions.
- Develop measures to strengthen cybersecurity governance and accountability.
- Design improvements to identity and access management controls.
- Protect member information and sensitive pension data.
- Assess third-party and cloud cyber risks.
- Design improvements to cyber awareness and phishing resilience.
- Establish effective incident response and continuity arrangements.
- Develop measures to strengthen board-level cyber risk reporting.
